Body found in False Creek near David Lam Park

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Police are still trying to figure out what happened after a body was found in False Creek Saturday morning near David Lam Park.

The Vancouver Police Marine unit found the body around 9:30 a.m., and don’t suspect a nefarious motive. Police aren’t releasing the person’s identity or the cause of death as they continue the investigation.

“Just before 9:30 this morning the Vancouver Police Marine Unit recovered a body in False Creek near David Lam Park. At this time, there is no indication of foul-play. We have nothing further to share as the investigation continues,” Sgt. Jason Robillard says in an email.

A NEWS 1130 listener spotted police searching in the water around the Aquabus dock Saturday morning.
