VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Loverboy fans are really working for this weekend.  The Canadian band is at the Commodore for a Saturday show.  A great way for lead singer Mike Reno to cap off birthday celebrations.  The crooner turned 55 Friday.

Here’s a chance to see what bears are up to during the winter.  The Lynn Valley Ecology Centre in North Vancouver is inviting you to come up Sunday for an educational session.  This one is for families only and you need to pre-register.

Jay Leno has left the studio and is out on the road.  The former Tonight Show host is refining his stand-up routine to the River Rock for two Saturday shows.  Tickets are still available, get yours by clicking here.

It’s become a tradition for soon-to-be brides around Vancouver.  Grab the bridesmaids and get down to the Westin Bayshore for Wedding Fair 2010.  Over 150 exhibitors have signed up this year and there are just as many ways to win prizes.

There’s always a ton of stuff to see like the bridal gown fashion show, examples from local bakeries and packages from travel agencies to help you plan the perfect honeymoon.  You can order tickets by clicking here.

It’s being dubbed the Doggie Olympics and it’s coming to Whistler!  The Purina Incredible Dog Challenge is happening at various locations around town all weekend long.  Pups from around the region will be completing in a host of events including slalom racing and avalanche rescue.  Click here for more information.

It’s about finding humour in less-than-ideal situations and song titles like It’s A Rental (I Can’t Afford to Buy) will ring true with people in the Lower Mainland.  Debt! – the musical is a timely new production running at the Firehall Arts Centre.  That runs until the end of the month.
