VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – On Sunday, January 17th at 6:30 p.m., CityTV will broadcast ‘Help for Haiti: A CityNews Special’ which will include live coverage from the disaster zone and the latest on relief efforts.  They’ll also follow Canadians as they try to find family members. Viewers will also be told how Canadians can help from home.

Throughout the broadcast, viewers will be encouraged to show their support  by making a donation to aid organizations. One way is through Rogers’ text-to-donate campaign where customers send the text message “HELP” to shortcode 1291.

And Rogers Communications family (parent company of News1130) will donate $250,000 in funds and goods to Partners In Health: Haiti and other relief organizations.  As of 1 pm PT Thursday, over $30,000 has been donated since yesterday’s launch of the mobile campaign.
