Shuttle service from the Fraser Valley to King George SkyTrain station starts up in February

FRASER VALLEY (NEWS1130) – People in the Fraser Valley won’t have to brave city traffic and fight over parking during the winter games. International Trailways is setting up a shuttle service that will run from the Fraser Valley to the King George SkyTrain station during February.

Elizabeth Bowker, with International Trailways, says three Park and Ride locations have been set up at the Cottonwood Mall in Chilliwack, the Abbotsford Tradex, and Greater Vancouver Zoo in Aldergrove. “We’re going to have express services that will run directly from Abbotsford to King George station, Langley to King George station and some of the Abbotsford runs will also go from Chilliwack. Service will be every half an hour during peak times and every hour the rest of the day.”

As for the cost, a round trip ticket will cost you $25 or you can pay $15 for a one way fare. Bowker adds it is worth the price. “That is a lot of money, and we will offer discounts for people who want to purchase by the week. But we think that given the traffic constraints at games time, the gridlock over the bridge and the total lack of parking in the downtown core, this is the most efficient way to go.”

You’re also in for a comfortable ride. “Our coaches are luxury motor coaches with bathrooms and wi-fi so you can just get on the coach, leave your car at home, and not worry about it.”
