Defenceman from minors contributes to Canucks win

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – There was an unlikely hero on the ice for the Vancouver Canucks in their 3-2 win over Buffalo.

Defenceman Brad Lukowich took a sweet feed from Daniel Sedin and made no mistake beating Sabres goalie Ryan Miller for the winner extending his team’s current win streak to a season-high five games.

Lukowich is up from the minors trying to keep the team together as it struggles with three regulars out of the lineup with injuries.

Henrik Sedin had a goal and an assist and is now six points clear of Alex Ovechkin for the NHL scoring lead.

The Canucks face the Blues at home on Wednesday before they start their massive 14-game road trip that finishes on the other side of the 2010 games.
