Not all bad impressions from foreign press

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Many of the international headlines have been critical, even harsh, of Vancouver’s job as host so far.  We’re at the B.C. Media Center this morning rounding out the impressions.

The BBC interviewed us, curious as to how we think it is going. The interviewer told us some news agencies are going as far as to call these games cursed.  So we went in search of local impressions at the Media Centre, from enthusiastic tourists, foreign reporters have spoken with to hospitable locals, reaction here seems much more supportive. “Security seems really good, they are not intrusive, they blend into the crowd. But you feel like you’re in a very secure, safe place.”

As far as the protests, like the one that got aggressive this weekend, International media here don’t seem to be holding the host city responsible.
