Finding a bathroom during the Games… not that easy

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – There’s been a great deal of confusion during these Games over where you can ‘go’ when nature calls.  There was a plea for local businesses to open their doors and their washrooms.

Charles Gauthier with the Downtown Business Improvement Association says most are doing so.  “We also have public washrooms available at a number of our underground shopping malls, Pacific Centre, the Waterfront, at Royal Centre at Bentall.  Those are strategically located throughout the downtown area.”

News1130 hit the streets to find out how you’re dealing.  One woman told us she was having a really hard time finding a bathroom anywhere, others said they went before leaving the house.  There were also many Olympic fans saying it’s harder at night because line-ups are too long and most establishments are closed by the time they’re done partying.

Gauthier says hotels are good option to check out too and downtown ambassadors can point you to 150 locations in the city.  However, if you’re unsure and you really have to go, Gauthier says you should just ask the nearest business.
