TransLink looking at streetcars for Broadway corridor

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – TransLink began a series of discussions Thursday to look at improving transit along Broadway to UBC. Among the options, light rail which are speedy streetcars like the ones we saw here for the Olympics on False Creek.
Also being considered are rapid bus transit, buses in a dedicated lane which can be a tunnel, SkyTrain which could be elevated or in a tunnel, a combo of streetcars and SkyTrain, and simply improving current services. TransLink says they’re still in the early stages of planning for rapid transit service, and these alternatives are preliminary concepts.
