BURNABY (NEWS1130) – Students in the Burnaby School District could be facing larger class sizes in the coming year. Burnaby School Board trustees will be voting on their budget tonight, and they need to find an extra $5.3-million.
Layoffs are just one of the options on the table, but unlike Vancouver, the length of the school year will remain the same. Last night, the Vancouver School Board decided to shorten the school year in order to save money.
The Burnaby budget proposal also includes cuts to administration, supplies, and services.
