VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Giants announced Stuart Ballantyne as their new Chief Operating Officer.  Ballantyne joins the Giants after an impressive track record managing many different events most notably as General Manager of Molson’s Hockey Canada House during the Olympics.

He was also the GM of the World Police & Fire Games in Vancouver.  Giants majority owner Ron Toigo says he is very excited to have Ballantyne part of the Giants organization and now they will bid for big events such as the World Junior tournament and even hope to host a Memorial Cup in the future.

Ballantyne says he’s proud to be part of the team.  “I think the Giants have done a great job on bringing the prospects games here and I can’t see why the CHL and Hockey Canada wouldn’t come back to this market.”

Some other good news for the Giants’ both defenceman Neil Manning and Forward Brendan Gallagher were invited to Team Canada’s Junior camp this summer.
