VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Working dads are struggling to make it all work. A new poll suggests seven in 10 dads feel guilty when work takes precedence over family.
If they were given the choice, more than half of working dads say they would take a 10 per cent pay cut to spend 10 per cent more time at home with the kids.
The 2010 Workopolis Dads in the Workplace poll also finds when people were asked which parent should reduce their work hours in favour of more time with the kids, almost 70 per cent thought it should be the parent with the lower income.
About half of working dads would consider leaving their job if a potential employer offered more family-friendly options than their current employer.
