VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A recent survey has revealed that Canada is considered tolerant and welcoming in the eyes of the rest of the world. The survey also showed that we are open to immigration and embrace multiculturalism.

This is the second of a three part survey from the Historica-Dominion Institute looking at how the world perceives Canada and Canadians.

Ipsos Reid conducted the survey and found that eight in 10 respondents think that Canadians enjoy one of the best qualities of life and 90 per cent of Canadians agree.

When it comes to immigration, about 75 per cent of people around the world believe that Canada is welcoming to immigrants, while about 80 per cent describe us as tolerant of people from different cultural and racial backgrounds.

The survey involved more than 18,000 people in 24 countries.
