Two local bathrooms get nod for Canada’s Best Restroom

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Immaculate, inviting and memorable, we’re not talking about a luxury vacation.  Finalists for Canada’s Best Restrooms are out, and two Vancouver bathrooms are getting top marks.

They are described to have used some of the world’s finest materials and customer comforts.  At the Shangri-La Hotel in Vancouver, that’s an understatement.

The first thing you see rounding the corner is private washrooms, each with its own enormous crystal chandelier.

Jeff Froehlich with the hotel says they often get compliments about the design, but cleanliness is also a big factor.  “Not too many people have seen a chandelier in a washroom, especially a nice chandelier.  But, they are very well maintained.”

The other Vancouver mention comes from the Cactus Club on Byrne Road in Burnaby.  Padded furniture, televisions, hardwood floors, and floor to ceiling stall doors make the restroom nicer than some Vancouver apartments.
