Summer is over… back-to-school sales begin

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s gone faster than a blue freezie at the water park but according to marketers and advertisers, summer is done!
Officially there are 51 days of summer left, but end of season and back-to-school sales are already beating down students who are only halfway through algebra-free days.
At least Future Shop is getting creative, easing us into it with a little humour. They’ve released the hottest back-to-school products “retro” list.
In the 1980s there were no smartphones and laptops — unless you include the groundbreaking portable computer with a full-size keyboard and a whopping four lines of text for your word-processing delight.
After school entertainment included Knight Rider or Asteroids on your 19″ Magnavox, time on the Commodore 64 or pulling up the antenna and chatting on that flashy Motorola DynaTAC 8000X — Zack’s famous phone from Saved by the Bell.
