VPD issue an apology over the HST

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Over 2,500 people were charged tax on things like police record checks and finger print services by mistake.

The charges span between $3 and $8 depending on what service you received. Police say they “sincerely apologize” for any inconvenience they caused to those using their services.

If you were affected by the tax and want your money back, you need to mail your name, address and phone number along with the receipt, or the date you went to the police department.  The tax was charged between July 1st and 19th.
