One arrest after two men attacked in road rage assault

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a bizarre road rage attack Friday afternoon.  A delivery truck driver was heading westbound on 49th Avenue near Fraser Street when he was involved in a rear-ender with another vehicle.

According to Vancouver Police, the driver — who was hit from behind — actually got out of the car and began punching the driver of the delivery truck, but the victim was able to get away.

Constable Lindsey Houghton says the man then reached into his trunk and pulled out a large metal pipe, smashing the windows of the truck.

A nearby witness intervened and grabbed the pipe, that’s when the enraged man got back into his car and tried running over the witness.

Trevor Samuel Myketiak is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and uttering threats.

He has no previous record and is expected in court October 13th.
