New evidence unveiled in Encana pipeline bombings case

DAWSON CREEK (NEWS1130) – Mounties in northeast BC may have a break in the case of the Encana pipeline bombings. There’s new evidence regarding a letter a local newspaper received back in April.

The letter was from someone claiming to be the bomber.

Staff Sergeant Darren Traichevich says forensic experts have now finished examining that letter. “There was DNA found on the letter and the envelope, and as the result we’re hopefully furthering our investigation. We’re hopeful that the DNA can shed some kind of insight into the person who sent it.”

There’ve been six bombings targeting Encana pipelines and wells since October, 2008, but no one has been hurt.
