Russell Williams stripped of colonel rank

BELLEVILLE, ONT (NEWS1130) – Convicted sex killer Russell Williams has been stripped of his rank as colonel and booted from the military.
Defence sources say Governor General David Johnston agreed to a request from the chief of the defence staff today to revoke Williams’ commission and release him immediately from the Canadian Forces.
Williams was sentenced yesterday to life in prison with no parole for 25-years after pleading guilty to two counts of first-degree murder.
He was also convicted of dozens of other charges, including sexual assault.
