VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – As the mercury starts to dip, tempers are starting to rise. It’s often a heated battle over the thermostat between couples who can’t decide on an acceptable temperature.
It can get downright frosty among anyone sharing a household, as they battle for control of the thermostat. Some like it hot, some not.
One man tells us he’s exasperated with his girlfriend. “She always keeps on changing it. I told her a hundred times, if you want it warm… [turn the thermostat up]. She never changes the temperature. [She says] I should do it.”
Another man says, “I live all winter with my window ajar. I drive with my window open. I’m single, cause nobody else likes it that cold.”
Terasen Gas says just a three degree difference between 17 and 20 celcius on the thermostat can make up to a 15 per cent difference on your monthly bill.
