RCMP give out hundreds of fines for seatbelt violations

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – September was seatbelt enforcement month and the RCMP say a lot of people still aren’t hearing the ‘buckle up’ message.
More than 1,800 fines were handed out in the Lower Mainland alone last month, with more than 3,700 handed out province wide.
Mounties say at least 124 tickets were handed out every day.
Officers say enforcement continues and if you don’t wear a seatbelt, they’ll remind you to do so with a hefty fine.
