October unemployment rates in Canadian provinces

OTTAWA – Canada’s national unemployment rate was 7.9 per cent in October. Here’s what happened provincially (previous month in brackets):
- Newfoundland – 13.0 (13.5)
- Prince Edward Island – 12.9 (13.6)
- Nova Scotia 9.8 – (9.0)
- New Brunswick – 9.8 (9.8)
- Quebec – 8.0 (7.7)
- Ontario – 8.6 (8.8)
- Manitoba – 5.2 (5.4)
- Saskatchewan – 5.7 (5.5)
- Alberta – 6.0 (6.2)
- British Columbia – 7.4 (7.5)
