Canadian band dedicates song to soldiers

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Since 2002, a stretch of road between CFB Trenton and downtown Toronto has been called the Highway of Heroes. Hundreds gather on bridges and overpasses to watch the final journey of soldiers killed in Afghanistan.

The band The Trews was so moved by the death of Captain Nicola Goddard in 2006, the members wrote a song dedicated to all soldiers, past, present and in the future.

The song, Highway of Heroes, is a fundraiser for the Canadian Hero Fund, which provides scholarships to the spouses and children of soldiers killed in combat.

The song is available on i-Tunes. Click here to find out how you can donate to the cause.
