SEATTLE (NEWS1130) – The suspected Barefoot Bandit pleaded not guilty to interstate transportation of a stolen plane, boat and gun in a Seattle courtroom today.
Nineteen-year-old Colton Harris Moore is suspected in dozens of burglaries and thefts and is accused of flying from Indiana to the Bahamas in a stolen plane.
His lawyer, John Henry Browne, tells KOMO News the book and movie offers have been rolling in since he was arrested in July, but his client is not interested in making money from selling his story.
He also says Moore is the most interesting person he’s ever met. “He’s spending his time working in his little cell, drawing designs for airplanes, literally very sophisticated, studying books on airplanes, outdoor books.”
A trial date has been set for January.
