Carol Berner bail decision reserved

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The BC Court of Appeal has reserved its decision in Carol Berner’s bail application until next Thursday.

Berner, convicted of killing little Alexa Middelaer back in 2008, is trying to appeal her conviction and sentence. Her lawyer says Berner has been kept in isolation since she was sentenced to two and a half years in prison on Friday. He argues she should be allowed to stay with her sister on Vancouver Island until the Court of Appeal decides whether to overturn her sentence.

Berner’s lawyer also says Berner was living in a trailer after she escaped an abusive relationship, but now she has nowhere else to go.
