VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Emergency cold weather shelters will open in Vancouver again this year. The province has provided $1.5 million for four new locations, but where they’ll be located hasn’t been announced yet.
Last year, they were located in Kitsilano, the West End, Mount Pleasant and north-east False Creek. The new shelters will likely open early next month.
This time next year, hundreds of new permanent supportive-housing units are expected to be open.
