Forget the commute; roll out of bed and into a warm robe

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Forget the commute! It’s the perfect kind of morning to roll out of bed and right into a nice warm robe with a cup of coffee.
More people are leaping on the bandwagon to help create National Work From Home Day. The folks at Workopolis have attracted more than 50,000 Canadians to the cause and they are even getting the ear of parliament today as Liberal MP Mike Savage makes the pitch.
Peter Harris with Workopolis says they’ve never had a bigger response to a campaign. “We know that a single day isn’t going to change things for people or the planet, but the one day is meant as an experiment or symbol to get organizations that have not embraced the culture of flexible working arrangement to give it a try.”
The city of Ottawa is on board, with all civic workers given the option of telecommuting if they can today. So you might want to try telling your boss you want to stay home and work; Just don’t mention the waffles.
