Online shoppers prepare for Cyber Monday

TORONTO, Ont. – For those who prefer to stay away from the malls at this time of year, and have no interest in driving down to Buffalo for a good deal, the alternative to Black Friday is just around the corner.

November 29 has been crowned ‘Cyber Monday’ – referring to the first Monday following American Thanksgiving – and is the busiest online shopping day of the year.

A new BMO survey found that 41 per cent of Canadians plan to shop online – some even in their pyjamas – for holiday gifts this season, with men being 15 per cent more likely to buy gifts online than women.

The survey also revealed that Canadians living in the Prairies are most likely to do their Christmas shopping online this year, closely followed by those living in Ontario and British Columbia.
