The Sharks are on a brief road trip to Western Canada that includes a stop in Edmonton Saturday night. San Jose beat Vancouver three times last season, all by 4-2 scores. The Canucks enter the night tied with the Colorado Avalanche for first in the Northwest Division. The Sharks are chasing L.A. and Phoenix for the Pacific Division lead. The Canucks have sent defenseman Ryan Parent to the Manitoba Moose farm team. The young defenseman won’t have to catch a flight to play for them. The Moose are in Abbotsford tonight in American Hockey League Action. Game time at Rogers Arena is 7 p.m.

Grey Cup
Grey Cup week is winding down in Edmonton. The Montreal Alouettes are slight favorites to beat Saskatchewan on Sunday. The Roughriders will be trying to avenge last year’s 28-27 loss to Montreal in the 97th Grey Cup Game. Alouettes kicker Damon Duval kicked a 33-yard field goal with time running out to win the game. After a week of bonechilling cold, game time temperature on Sunday is expected to be around minus eight degrees Celsius. Kickoff on Sunday is around 3:30 p.m.
