Online retailers gear up for Cyber Monday

TORONTO, On. – Online retailers geared up for what they hope will be one of their biggest sale days of the year: Cyber Monday.

Cyber Monday follows Black Friday, and it is considered one of the busiest online shopping days of the year, due to web-only discounts.

However CNET TV: Technology contributor Katie Linendoll has warned shoppers to be careful and make sure they don’t get ripped off.

“Are you getting $150 off of something that costs $300 or $200 bucks? Let’s think twice about it. Also, is this a reputable site? Have you heard of this site before?” she asked.

A new survey by The Bank of Montreal reported that 41 per cent of Canadians will shop on the Internet during the holiday season.

Deals are expected in droves, with almost $1-billion in online sales predicted.
