Serial killer Clifford Olson gets cut from federal benefits

By

OTTAWA, Ont. – Clifford Olson’s monthly income will decrease next year as the Senate passed a bill to cut off federal income support.

The Harper government introduced the legislation in June and about 400 incarcerated seniors will be affected by this cut. Ottawa is also negotiating with the provinces to cut off benefits for inmates serving less than two years in provincial jails.

Olson was receiving more than $1,100 a month in federal benefits including old age pension. He threatened to sue the government if the bill was passed.
