WHISTLER (NEWS1130) – So much for that Olympic hangover. At least one Whistler hotel says there’s been a spike in bookings over last Christmas and as a result hotels up there are either completely full or very close to it.
Whistler Pan Pacific General Manager Jim Douglas says that’s a nice change from last year.
Douglas adds they were busy during the Olympics, but not so much over last year’s holidays. “We’re seeing a little bit of an improvement over last year and I think a big part of that was the big party we had in February.”
He explains business also dropped off a little after the 2010 Games. He explains as long as the snow is good, bookings should continue to be steady for the rest of the winter.
