VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Vancouver police are concerned some women partying in the Granville entertainment district are leaving themselves vulnerable to an attack.
Constable Jana McGuinness says officers have noticed that some women are getting staggering-drunk and then getting separated from their friends. “We’re urging people to stick together in groups. If you’re a group of young ladies and you’re out together, stay together.”
McGuinness adds, “Occasionally there’s some kind of drug slipped into drinks .. That’s difficult to understand and prove, because reports come in to us so late.”
Police are urging people to watch out for each other. Also, if you leave your drink unattended for any period of time, you should consider it spoiled, and get a new one.
