Police don’t know how little boy got serious head injuries

SAANICH (NEWS1130) – Saanich Police are now waiting for a medical explanation as to how a four-year-old boy was critically injured almost one week ago.  There is no indication his injuries were caused by an assault.

Sergeant Dean Jantzen says until police hear otherwise they are still pursuing this case as if it were a crime.  “Rest assured we are diligently working towards the truth of this matter and what happened to this young child.”

He adds there has also been a slight improvement in the boy’s condition.  “There are some positive signs.  Our police investigation continues.  It has not changed course in the last few days.  We are still interviewing many people and gathering evidence as we would for any serious incident like this.”

The boy was brought to hospital with serious head injuries just before midnight last Wednesday.  He’s not in stable condition.
