Wrapping up the Golden Globes

By

LOS ANGELES, CA. (NEWS1130) – With all of Hollywood sitting in one room, comedian Ricky Gervais took his best shots at the talent, the industry and of course the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.  But it didn’t put a damper on the night as some of the best were rewarded with a Golden Globe.

Starting on the TV side of things Glee won for Best Comedy/Musical for the second year in a row.  It also swept the Best Supporting Actor categories with Jane Lynch and Chris Colfer.

HBO’s Boardwalk Empire won for Best Drama and Steve Buscemi picked up some hardware for Best Dramatic Actor.

Laura Linney, Jim Parsons and Katey Sagal picked up awards in the other TV categories.

Without any surprise The Social Network picked up four awards.  It won for Best Drama, Best Score, Best Screenwriter for Aaron Sorkin and Best Director for David Fincher.

The Fighter got two Golden Globes.

The winners of the two dramatic actors were a lock.  Colin Firth won for The King’s Speech and Natalie Portman won for Black Swan.

Annette Bening and Paul Giamatti won on the comedy side.
