More cops using cell phone records to track criminals

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – We see it all the time in crime shows like CSI and Law and Order.  But cell phone tracking is becoming a powerful tool in the real world.

It’s becoming more and more common, perhaps because we can’t live without our iPhones and BlackBerry’s.  We are using the gadgets enough that our movements can almost be tracked hour by hour.

The average adult can be linked to between 20 and 55 locations every day.

While this may be great news for police, phone tracking is being criticized by some civil libertarians who are concerned about privacy.
