Cody Hodgson on his way to join the Canucks in Dallas

WINNIPEG, MN. – (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks have recalled centre Cody Hodgson from their Manitoba Moose farm club.

The 20-year-old returned last week from a facial fracture that put him on the injured list for six weeks.  Hodgson, the Canucks’ first round pick (10th overall) in 2008, has 26 points (10 g, 16a) in 28 games for the Moose.

Hodgson could make his NHL debut Tuesday night in Dallas against the Stars.

Sergei Shirokov plays in the American Hockey League all-star game tonight in Hershey and the Moose don’t play again until Friday, so it gives the Canucks five days to look at Hodgson.

Coach Alain Vigneault, the Sedin twins and Ryan Kesler will join the team in Dallas today after taking part in the NHL All-star game yesterday in Carolina.

Meanwhile, defenseman Alexander Edler will have surgery on his back today in Vancouver.  The team will know more post-op.
