By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Canucks defenseman Sami Salo will play for the Manitoba Moose farm team in a conditioning assignment this weekend. Salo who hasn’t played a game this season after tearing an Achilles tendon in July is expected to join the Moose in time for Friday’s road game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

The 36-year-old Salo has been on the Canucks’ injury-reserve list since the start of the season. Salo will reportedly play Friday, take Saturday’s game in Hershey off and play against Hershey on Sunday. According to the rules, Salo can only play three games and be on the Moose roster for six days as he is still on the long term injury reserve list.
