VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A well-known tourist attraction at Stanley Park may have been the target of an arson. A fire at Horse Drawn Tours caused about $50,000 in damages.
President Gerry O’Neill tells us at least two wooden carriages were damaged in the fire. Since the company isn’t operating until March, no horses were hurt.
He says, “Thank god the horses were not here.”
“It is frustrating because every time you get a call at two in the morning it is not good news. Having animals it is almost like having extra children,” says O’Neill. “We’ve got a crew lined up and we are starting to clean up and hopefully things will be fixed up in the next month or so.”
Vancouver Police are also calling the fire suspicious.
