VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Bankruptcies in Canada rose in November from October but continue the trend of being lower than the previous year, although BC was the opposite.
A federal agency says the month’s bankruptcies were 1.1% higher than October’s but 7.3% less than a year earlier.
BC, however saw a jump of 7.7% in bankruptcies year-over-year but a drop of 2.5% from the previous month. This province had a total of 838 bankruptcy filings in November, almost all of them by consumers.
The figures come from the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy.
