It’s farewell day at the Legislature

VICTORIA (NEWS1130) – Tributes were rolling in for NDP leader Carole James and Premier Gordon Campbell at the Legislature this afternoon as both outgoing leaders said their goodbyes.
It was Bizarro World at the Leg, with James praising Campbell.
“Although we may have disagreed on issues, I don’t know anyone who has questioned the kind of commitment that you had to improve British Columbia.”
And Campbell had nice things to say about James.
“As someone who cared about kids, who led by her own example and showed what we can do public life in British Columbia.”
And as is usually the case with farewell speeches, there were a few jokes too, like this one from Gordon Campbell toward James. “And although I wish you had not done quite as good a job of restoring the NDP, you know… what can you do?”
Campbell and James both received standing ovations.
