More bad news for the Canucks’ blueline on the injury front

By

NASHVILLE, TENN (NEWS1130) – The Canucks wrap up their three game road trip in Nashville tonight.

The nightmare of injuries continue for the Canucks on their blueline. Defenseman Kevin Bieksa could be out for a while after he blocked a shot with his foot in Minnesota two nights ago. Manitoba defenseman Evan Oberg was pulled from the Moose lineup last night, and is on his way to join the Canucks in Nashville for tonight’s game.

Sportsnet is reporting Bieksa will be out for about three weeks with a fracture in his left foot, but that’s not yet confirmed by the team.

Bieksa would join five other injured Canucks defensemen on the sidelines with injuries. If Oberg plays tonight, he’ll be the 13th defenseman used by the Canucks this season.

Tonight is the second meeting of the season between the two teams; the Canucks squeaked out a 2-1 come-from-behind win back on January 26th at Rogers Arena.

Nashville is tough to beat at home. The Predators have just five regulation losses in 25 games played in front of their fans – only the Canucks have fewer regulation losses on home ice with four.

But Vancouver has emerged victorious in five of their last six trips to Nashville and has an all-time record of 13-9-1 in the home of the Preds. They split the two games played there last season.

Game time is 5 p.m. and can be seen on Rogers Sportsnet Pacific.
