Lots of weekend activities around Vancouver

METRO VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – From African drumming, to a children’s art festival, antique fair and a “Culture Blast “, there’s no shortage of things to do this weekend around Vancouver.

The Children’s Art Festival runs on Saturday at the Richmond Cultural Centre. Workshops include how to DJ and lessons in aboriginal art.

It’s family time at the Bloedel Conservatory Saturday, enjoy guided tours and check out the tropical plants, birds, and educational activities.

There’s a kids swap Saturday at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds. Check out everything from strollers, to clothing and toys.

Check out the community campfire Saturday evening at Shipbuilders Square in North Vancouver. It features live music, food, fun, and fire.

The Retro Design & Antiques Fair is on at the Croatian Cultural Centre on Sunday. It includes 170 vendors of vintage and estate jewellery, modern decor, and pop-culture memorabilia. You can also bring items in for appraisal.

It’s called an art explosion for a reason, “Culture Blast” takes over Deer Lake Park and some other venues around Burnaby on Sunday. There will be performance art, dance, and First Nations carving. 

The Spirit of Africa Festival runs all weekend. Learn about African drumming, singing, music, and dance from some of the top artists from B.C.’s African community.
