Is your drainage ready for the cold snap?

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Get your pipes and gutters ready for the deep freeze.

Wally Sullivan with Burrard Roofing and Drainage says many new homes have frost free taps outside but if your house doesn’t, you should make sure your outside taps are drained. “If there is water sitting in them, there is the inside shutoff valve that you can turn the tap off, and then open the tap outside.”

He says if your drains are not cleared up, they could freeze and then you could have water backing up in your gutter and spilling onto your roof.
