Bizarre find shows up at Langley thrift store

LANGLEY (NEWS1130) – Staff at a Langley thrift store are scratching their heads after a bizarre discovery earlier this week. They found an urn and ashes, apparently left as a donation.

Staff at the Value Village store found the copper-coloured urn, along with a Ziploc bag with the remains at their doorstep on Wednesday. They quickly called the cops, who are just as puzzled as the workers.

Ray Thomson with the SPCA Thrift Store in Vancouver is no stranger to finding odd donations; the oddest thing he’s ever found was a lima bean slicer. “It slices each lima bean one by one. I didn’t know what it was, and it took over a year to figure out what it was.”

“[I once found] baby owls left in a box,” he adds. “I just get stuff that comes and goes and you just ask yourself ‘What’s it for?’ It’s always interesting.”

Langley RCMP are hoping to return the urn and ashes to the owner. If you have any information, you’re asked to give them a call.
