Mobile tech expert discusses different smartphone options

TORONTO – There are four major smartphone platforms dominating the market today; RIM’s Blackberry, Apple iOS, Google’s Android and Window’s Phone 7. So what sets them all apart?

Andrew Moore-Crispin is the Web Editor of the mobile tech website butterscotch.com and told 680News that if you prefer phone applications, then Apple is the way to go.

“Apple iOS has the benefit of having the largest app library. They have over 3,000 applications just for the iphone alone,” said Moore-Crispin.

If you prefer the Android, the benefits include a wide range of available phones.

“We can find one with a hardboard keyboard. We can find one with entirety on screen input. We can find one that is inexpensive and not so powerful. We can find one that is more expensive and super powerful.”

Blackberry’s will excel in secure corporate email and have made a name for themselves with it’s qwerty keyboards.

Moore-Crispin told 680News that Window’s Phone 7 is as easy to use as the iphone and will give you a variety of phones to choose from.
