CMA: Feds need to create action plan on health care

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Canadian Medical Association says the feds need to create a “Health Care Action Plan.”

It says emergency rooms are overcrowded, five million people are without a family doctor, and many others can’t afford medications.

It’s urging Ottawa to come up with a plan to fix our health care system, much like what they are trying to do with the economy.

The CMA says drastic cuts or a move to private care won’t fix anything, saying we need better co-ordinated care to make the system more effective and sustainable.

Dr. Jeff Turnbull, the president of the CMA says the idea of a health-care plan has so far fallen flat with the feds.
