Bike share program coming to Ottawa

By

Starting in May, Ottawa residents and visitors will be able to “borrow a bike” like they do in Montreal.

The city has just confirmed that Montreal’s public bike system company has been chosen to start the “Capital Bixi” program here in Ottawa.

The first phase of the service that will be implemented by the NCC will include the installation of 10 stations with a total of 100 Capital Bixi bicycles in various locations throughout Downtown Ottawa and Gatineau.

Other stations and bicycles can be added at a later date by Gatineau and the City of Ottawa with the objective of eventually achieving the full 50 stations and 500 bicycles.
