Sheen says firing from “Two and a Half Men” good news

By

Actor Charlie Sheen has called his firing from Warner Bros. Television good news, and said he’s still winning.

Sheen said that if this is what it took to get him out of “those silly bowling shirts on ‘Two and a Half Men,’ then so be it.”

He also continues to throw verbal punches at the producers of the hit show.

It’s not yet know if Warner will replace Sheen and keep producing the show. If it does, the actor could keep getting paid.

Quoting sources close to Sheen, TMZ reported the actor has a Michael J. Fox clause, something Fox had in his “Spin City” contract, saying he would keep getting paid as long as the show was in production.

Sheen now has well over two million followers on Twitter, with people hanging on his catchphrases like “winning,” “Adonis DNA” and of course “Tiger blood.”

On Monday, Warner announced it fired Sheen after taking “careful consideration” and that it was effective immediately.

Sheen’s erratic personal life had prompted Warner to suspend production on the show for the season, and Sheen in return had been waging an angry media campaign against the show’s producers.

The firing capped a rare, raging public battle between a Hollywood star and those who employ him, with Sheen claiming the right to live as he pleased — including the acknowledged use of illegal drugs, although he’s said he is currently clean — as long as he showed up sober and ready to work.

Last month, Warner cancelled the remaining eight episodes of what was intended to be a 24-episode season of “Two and a Half Men,” citing Sheen’s public behaviour and rants against executive producer Chuck Lorre.
