CRA helping file tax returns for low, fixed income earners

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – If you’re short on cash, you can still get a hand with your tax return. The Canada Revenue Agency is training thousands of volunteers to help out this year.

That help will be going to people with low or fixed incomes.

Ravinder Dhami with the CRA says volunteers will be offering the service for free as long as it’s a simple return.

“Usually where you are receiving income from one employer or from one source, and other than that there is no other expenses involved.”

Last year, over 2,800 volunteers across BC stepped in to help complete more than 78,000 income tax returns.

Dhami is also reminding people not to wait until the last minute.
