Organic tea recall

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Tea drinkers are being warned by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency as well as the US Food and Drug Administration about Metropolitan Tea Company‘s peppermint flavour. It may be contaminated with salmonella.

The CFIA is working with Canadian importers to trace-back and recall all affected products that may have been distributed here. So far, no illnesses have been reported.

The affected tea: sold in 0.5 kg, 1.0 kg, and 8 kg packages.
The UPCs: 7 71541 48051 3, 7 71541 38051 6, and 7 71541 68051 7.

Some of the organic teas may have been repackaged into smaller sized units with no label information. These products have been distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, Quebec, and Ontario.
